Educational Apps for Primary School Aged Children

1. Geoboard

The Geoboard app is an open-ended tool for exploring a variety of mathematical topics introduced in primary school. Students stretch bands around the pegs to form line segments and polygons and make discoveries about perimeter, area, angles, congruence, fractions, and more.

2. Duolingo

This app is the best way to learn a language. With many languages to choose from, learning becomes fun and addictive. Students earn points for correct answers, race against the clock and level up.

3. Hopscotch

Hopscotch is a coding app aimed at upper primary school and beyond. Students have a canvas to create games, stories, turn your drawings into animations, and build anything else you can imagine. When they’re done coding, students can publish their game for friends and family to play. They can explore projects made by other kids to get inspiration for their next game.

4. Reading Eggs

ABC Reading Eggs makes learning to read interesting and engaging for kids, with great online reading games and activities. It is developed by Australian primary educator Del Merrick, meaning students won’t be confused by American spelling, which features in many other education apps.

5. Isometric paper

This app allows students to draw 2D objects on isometric paper and visualise them in 3D. They can then explore various measurement concepts such as volume.

6. Endless Alphabet

Set the stage for reading success with this delightfully interactive educational app. Kids have a blast learning their ABC’s and building vocabulary with the adorable monsters. Each word features an interactive puzzle game with talking letters and a short animation illustrating the definition.
